Still writing and with a vast catalogue of songs in her pocket, Ginni is looking forward to releasing many more albums.
“Ginni was born into a very musical family. Her mother – Lisa Munns – is a jazz singer and worked as a promoter and publisher for Leeds Music in South Africa. Her father – Robin Hogarth – is a composer and producer of African & World music as well as film & television. Her grandparents on her mothers’ side both played the piano and her grandfather was fabulous on the clarinet. Being exposed to music growing up is one of the reasons why music became an integral part of her life.
She was extremely grateful for this, as there was so much adventure to have as a young child. Having a very active childhood in dance and music, she was fortunate enough to get a part in a South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) television production giving “Tribute to the 80’s” and following that, acquired the lead role as singer/dancer in a Broadway-type production with Sun International. This allowed her to make a name for herself in South Africa at a very tender age. After two productions, she decided to pursue her career as a songwriter and performer on piano, and left her new acclaimed fame behind.”
